Michael Schlaug new Managing Director Yara Sluiskil.
Michael Schlaug to succeed Managing Director Jon Sletten who will depart to Yara production location Porsgrunn (Norway) as of December 1st.
Mr. Schlaug has been employed for the Norwegian multinational for 20 years and held positions in Germany, Norway, Belgium and the past 6 years as Managing Director of the Yara production location in Belle Plaine (Canada).
Yara Sluiskil is Yara International ASA’s largest factory and has expanded rapidly in the past few years. In less than 10 years over 700 million euro was invested in new installations. Multiple new production records were set and the total shipped product volume in 2016 was over 5 million ton, which mostly finds her way within and outside of Europe via the harbors.
Yara Sluiskil is an important employer in the region and actively participates in innovative regional projects, of which WarmCO2, The Hydrogen roundabout, the Green Koegorspolder and SDR are some appealing examples.
The new director will begin in Sluiskil as of February 1, 2018. In the meantime Deputy Director Rik Lambotte will fulfill the duties of the Managing Director for Sluiskil.
