New general manager Zeeland Refinery
Nathalie de Muynck will be returning as general manager of oil refinery and SDR member Zeeland Refinery in the port area of North Sea Port in Vlissingen. She succeeds Tanneguy Descazeaud. De Muynck was also general manager from 2011 to 2015. Over the past three years she had a position within Total Marketing.
Under the management of Descazeaud, Zeeland Refinery was able to realize a more energy-efficient and more sustainable production process, partly through the millions of euros invested by the shareholders Total (55 percent) and Lukeoil (45 percent). Another milestone is the solar park Zeeland Solar that has just gone into use. On sunny days the 28,000 solar panels can provide almost a quarter of the electricity consumption of the refinery. De Muynck, who has been working within the Total group for almost thirty years, knows the factory inside out and will therefore get up to speed very quickly.
The refinery has a maximum capacity of 155,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The hydrocracker, one of the largest in Europe, can fill 80,000 barrels per day. Zeeland Refinery produces various types of fuels, including a considerable share of kerosene for aircraft. The company has 420 employees and 300 employees from regular maintenance contractors.
