The Hydrogen Delta Day

The Hydrogen Delta Day

The Hydrogen Delta Day will be held in the Lasloods in Vlissingen on Monday, November 25, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Minister Eric Wiebes of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate has agreed to act as a guest speaker and possibly also the newly appointed Flemish climate minister, Zuhal Demir.

Smart Delta Resources, companies, North Sea Port, education and knowledge institutions and the provinces of Zeeland and East Flanders warmly welcome participants to this event in one of the largest hydrogen regions in Europe, where the sustainability of the large-scale process industry will be implemented for blue and green hydrogen as a raw material.

On this afternoon plans will be presented to allow the Delta region to remain the leader in the field of industrial hydrogen. Currently, more than 50% of the hydrogen produced in the Netherlands is consumed in the Zeeland industry. The high demand for hydrogen, the potential supply of hydrogen by companies, the proximity of large-scale offshore wind farms and the already existing hydrogen infrastructure make the region a very suitable location for installing electrolyzers and the further roll-out of a hydrogen network.

Participants will be presented with a varied program with prominent speakers from the Netherlands, Flanders and the EU as well as interactive discussions about the enormous potential of (green) hydrogen.

Guest speakers on this day include:

  • The Dutch minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Eric Wiebes.
  • The Flemish minister of Climate Zuhal Demir (subject to change).
  • Deputy Jo Annes de Bat from the province of Zeeland.
  • Anton van Beek, chairman of the Board of Smart Delta Resources and president of Dow Benelux, UK, Nordic, France, Spain and Portugal
  • Anders Nordström, vice president of Ørsted
