OCAS opens GET-LAB: test centre for hydrogen technology and CO₂ transport and storage

OCAS's brand new Global Energy Transition Lab (GET-LAB) has officially opened in Zelzate. The test centre supports the development and assessment of materials for technologies that enable industrial transformation and energy transition. These include applications such as hydrogen systems and the safe transport and storage of CO₂.
Test centre for materials that enable the energy transition
GET-LAB brings together advanced testing infrastructure in a new, specially designed building. Among other things, the behaviour of materials is evaluated here for transport and storage applications under high gas pressure.
In this way, OCAS supports the safe and reliable roll-out of hydrogen and CO₂ infrastructure in industrial chains. By testing quickly and independently, GET-LAB stimulates innovation among companies in our industrial cluster and helps to accelerate the transition.
Strategic collaboration for climate goals
GET-LAB is an initiative of OCAS, part of Smart Delta Resources partner FINOCAS: the public-private joint venture between ArcelorMittal Belgium and the Flemish government.
The official opening took place in the presence of Sofie Bracke, Port, Trade, Tourism and Public Cleanliness of the City of Ghent. Her presence emphasises the importance of this collaboration for achieving climate targets in the Scheldt Delta region and Europe.
