Do you ever think about where everyday products come from? Industry in the Scheldt Delta region plays a crucial, often invisible role in our lives.

Smart Delta Resources launched a mini-campaign to emphasise this importance and to show how we are working towards a sustainable future through collaboration with companies, the port, government and knowledge institutions. Our industry is of crucial importance: it supplies the raw materials and products that keep our economy running and contributes to employment, innovation and prosperity.

For this campaign, we were given permission to film at Steelanol, ArcelorMittal's groundbreaking carbon recycling project in Ghent. This is Europe's first large-scale initiative to convert carbon-rich industrial gases into ethanol, a fine example of sustainability in action.

Watch our video here (in Dutch).

In the coming months, we will take a closer look at the challenges facing our local industry.
