Last month, our revamped website went live, marking an important milestone for SDR. SDR Netherlands has been in existence for 10 years, SDR Flanders for 4 years. During that time, many joint projects and initiatives have been launched, but also projects that each part of the cluster carries out in its own way. The new website highlights this dynamic: we now clearly show that SDR is one cluster with one story that transcends national borders, while still leaving room for regional identity.
Crossborder themes
The content of the website has been thoroughly revised. We now work with crossborder themes that connect Flanders and the Netherlands. Under each theme, you will find local projects and studies, so that the uniqueness of each region is preserved within the larger whole.
We start from six transition paths, which we supplement with three additional themes:
- Transition pathways: Electrification, CCUS, Circularity, Heat, Hydrogen and Water
- Innovation: not an end in itself, but a driving force that connects the themes.
- Policy: we actively contribute at all levels, from city and province to Europe. International decisions often have local consequences, and we want to communicate that message clearly.
- Cooperation: companies, ports, knowledge institutions, governments and network operators are joining forces in SDR. Together, we are working towards a sustainable, cross-border industry in the Scheldt Delta region.
What specific improvements have been made?
In addition to the content revision, visual and functional improvements have also been implemented:
- More images and videos bring our network to life.
- Shorter, clear texts with subheadings and bold keywords improve readability.
- A filter function on the news page makes it easier to find relevant messages.
- The media page is clearer and has been greatly expanded.
- The English-language pages have been optimised in line with the growing role of European policy.
The structure of the website remains recognisable, but the content is sharper and better tailored to our diverse target groups: from policymakers and members to interested citizens.
