Moonshot als strategisch innovatieprogramma
Moonshot is een strategisch Vlaams onderzoeks‑ en innovatieprogramma dat inzet op baanbrekende nieuwe technologieën om de industrie klimaatneutraal én competitief te maken tegen 2050. Via grootschalige, multidisciplinaire projecten brengt Moonshot bedrijven, universiteiten en kennisinstellingen samen rond fundamentele industriële transitie‑uitdagingen.
De projecten focussen onder meer op:
- koolstofgebruik en ‑afvang (CCU/CCS),
- elektrificatie en waterstof,
- circulaire grondstoffen,
- innovatieve energie‑ en procestechnologieën.
Moonshot‑projecten bevinden zich doorgaans in een vroeg tot middelhoog TRL‑niveau, met het oog op schaalbaarheid en industriële toepassing op langere termijn.
Rol van SDR Flanders
SDR Flanders vervult binnen verschillende innovatieprogramma’s een adviserende en verbindende rol, met focus op industriële relevantie, samenhang en impact.
Binnen Moonshot
SDR Flanders is betrokken als lid van de Advisory Board en draagt vanuit die rol bij aan:
- de strategische oriëntatie van geselecteerde projecten en thematische trajecten,
- de beoordeling van industriële relevantie, systeemimpact en valorisatiepotentieel,
- het verbinden van onderzoek met de bredere Vlaamse industriële context.
De nauwe samenwerking met speerpuntcluster Catalisti vormt daarbij een belangrijke hefboom om inzichten en resultaten maximaal te laten doorwerken richting industrie en beleid.
